Oh hi there!
How goes it? I thought I should do a wee update of all the recent happenings.
Where to start...
New digs
We have a place to live! A cute little one-bedroom flat in Kensal Green. Living by ourselves is amazing. There isn't a single arse-monkey to mess anything up! It's got an itty-bitty bathroom, three radiators and a little kitchen/lounge. And enough room for an air bed which is what I really wanted. Robert Saunders was our first guest! Our friend from Whangarei who is going to move to England in a few months time (probably). He spent the entire night on Wednesday shooting in London. He's a very good photographer, but he's a little bit mad. We love him all the same.
Here's a photo of Robert's. Like I said, he's an amazing photographer.

I eventually got a job temping at GPhC, but more recently I got a job at an IT consulting firm, 'Tyche', (pronounced tie-key). It's a fixed-term role covering maternity leave for approx. 12 months as an HR Co-ordinator, and it starts on Monday. Mike is still at YSC. Unfortunately the Policy job market isn't as bouyant as HR, but he'll find something awesome eventually :-)
When I went for my interview, they told me up front that they actually develop gambling software and was I okay with that? I promptly replied, not a problem - I come from an oil and gas background where we did plenty of fracking - I have no morals. I think we'll all get on just fine.

Happenings
Lately we have been...
- Gallivanting around the tree-top walk in Kew Gardens with our friend Bex.
- Eating Byron Burgers. Pretty bloody good! Better than the Five Guys burger that Liam recommended. That seemed like a good idea at the time but caused considerable lower intestine discomfort for A WHOLE WEEK. Thanks, Liam.
- Experiencing the Mark Knopfler concert who, may I add, was FREAKING AMAZING (thank you Mum & Dad for the tickets!!!!). Michele, we wish you could have been there, but we felt you were there in spirit :-D. You simply cannot beat live music, especially when you get the opportunity to listen to the songs of your childhood live, in person. It's incredible, and fortunately we both feel this way. Some people just don't get it. We're not friends with them ;-) hahaha.
- Chilling with our neighbours, Davide and Flora (Italians), at their BBQ with their friends. Turns out their section of the flat has the garden!
- Drinking French red wine to celebrate our first month in London! Complete with peonies. Because it's Summer here, and peonies! Oh my god, the wine came with a cork!!! Opening it was a glorious experience. How many bottles come with corks in NZ?! Glorious.
- Booking our first trip! We're on our way to Brussels on the EuroStar in August for the bank holiday weekend.
- Watching Dylan Moran at the Apollo. He is truly a funny, funny man.
Highlights of late:
- Skyping and WhatsApp-ing Mum & Dad! It's brilliant. Facebook is a wonderful thing for keeping in touch with friends.
- Seeing people getting squished in the tube doors
- Ben & Jerry's 'Karamel Sutra' ice cream. God bless the sweet bearded baby Jesus - that stuff is good.
- Time Out magazine. Comes out every Tuesday and it chock full of all the cool stuff going down in London that week. This place is ridiculously busy.
- Catching up with old friends.
- Job searching. Pain in the butt.
